Groundbreaking Ceremony the DESY Innovation Factory in Altona

Work is now underway on the DESY Innovation Factory, a new technology and start-up hub in Hamburg’s Innovation Park Altona.

Designed by Trapez together with Blunck + Morgen Architekten, the project will bring established companies and young start-ups together on more than 8,500 square meters to collaborate in fields such as life sciences, new materials, and quantum technologies.

At the heart of the building is a generous communication zone with a cascading staircase that connects all floors and encourages exchange. A multilayered façade gives the building a sense of lightness while opening views into this lively central space.
